Real estate agents are always on the lookout for a real buyer- someone who has deep enough pockets and plenty of interest in buying properties when they can, and usually with a plan. However, there is a very large gulf between the buyers of the world (whom real estate agents adore) and the tire kickers of the world (who annoy real estate agents to no end). If you want to keep your real estate agent happy, you have got to remember a couple of very important things about them which it can be easy to forget in the mad dash to pick up as many properties as is humanly possible.
For one thing, you have got to keep in mind that your real estate agent is a human being, just like you are. They have the same tendency towards errors, faults, vices and prejudices that all people have the risk of living under. They get just as frustrated when they have to drive across town only to be stood up or to have it be a “fishing trip” (an unproductive search, mostly for kicks) as you would be if your personal livelihood depended on having someone purchase a piece of real estate on as regular a basis as is humanly possible.
For another thing, you have also got to remember that everything costs this person money. Talking on the phone takes their electricity, driving around takes their gas, and doing all of the paperwork for a sale takes their ink, their electricity and their paper. Not to mention that all of these things take their time, which can otherwise potentially be used to be making other sales, and thus more money. While it can be very easy to forget things such as this (especially if you have a job where your employer takes care of expenses), don’t abuse your agent. Keep them happy with you.
